Myles Garrett is an American professional football player for the Cleveland Browns. He stands 6ft 5in tall and plays the defensive end position. Garrett was born on December 29, 1995, in Arlington, Texas, to Audrey and Lawrence. His sister Brea is an athlete and his brother Sean Williams is a basketball player. Garrett attended Martin High School, followed by Texas A& M University. He studied at the Academy of Architecture. He also studied business administration and geology.
Garrett began his football career at Martin High School under coach Bob Wager. He was also competitive in basketball and on the track. In his final year, he recorded 81 tackles and 19.5 quarterback games in football. Garrett’s high school honors include Parade All-American, Texas Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year and MaxPreps All-American. He signed with the Texas A&M Aggies in October 2013.
Garrett played three seasons of college football with the Texas A&M Aggies. As an absolute rookie, he led the team in 2014 with 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss and nine QB rushing. He was named to the second team of the All-SEC in 2014. Garrett received the award for the first team of the All-SEC and the first team of the All-American in 2015 and 2016. He was a 2015 finalist for both the Rotary Lombardi Award and the Ted Hendricks Award. He declared for the 2017 NFL draft in December 2017.
